The average marketable weight of the fish (sea bream, sea bass, other
Mediterranean species) is 400g and the duration of the farming process
is 16 to 18 months.
The company location means it enjoys easy access to the port of Patras
in order to distribute its products to the markets of Italy, France,
Spain, Portugal and other countries.
Fish are packed immediately after harvesting and arrive fresh to the
final consumer. For increased distribution efficiency of its fish
product, the company has a fleet of 5 refrigerated lorries.
The average initial selling price per kilo ranges from €4.39
to €6.23 for sea bass and from €4.07 to €5.79 for
sea bream.
Greece is the main producer, accounting for approximately 57% of total
production in 2002, and is favoured by a sheltered and extensive shoreline
ideal for fish cage culture sites, and by excellent environmental
conditions.
